The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you. -B.B. King

continues Learning to help us get out of our comfort zone is a must. It feels great when we see ourselves growing!

But trust me, learning something new is not as seamless as it looks, especially when it is related to an unheard field that you have never heard of before, i.e., as a designer, I’m learning about running marathons.

I had to face a few ups and downs, which I didn’t want to mention here, but yeah! They are all worth letting me have the right approach.

Here I’m sharing some quick step-by-step formulas that I have learned in the process of learning. which you can implement irrespective of the field you are in and achieve a greater level of success.

Note: The comfort zone is not easy to break, but if you have a trust and support system intact, Like I said, everything seems easy to do. Make sure you work on that first:)

Understanding the Learning Curve : Trust the Process

Assumptions

Let’s start with misconceptions about our perceived wisdom in learning. In general, we have the idea that learning happens in a linear fashion with respect to time. Like in this graph,

But it is not as per the learning graph module. Learning will never be in a linear fashion. It will be a zig-zag, spiral, or wave of any type, depending upon the person’s grasping power and level of involvement in the task.

Some bright kids might grasp things fast, some might take extra time, and everybody learns at their own pace. So have patience with that. It took me 3 years to actually cover 42 km in a straight run.

The learning curve here tells you that the more time you spend practicing, the more proficient you will become in the long run.

Don’t Be Afraid of Making Mistakes

Being open to Making mistakes, changing opinions, being wrong As humans, we all make mistakes and are wrong sometimes in our lives. Adopting them light-hearted and easily is part of the process. Don’t be afraid to ask for feedback that makes your head and heart more flexible.

Make a journal to keep small wins.

Success is comprised of those small cherished moments you have enjoyed, so celebrate small wins along the way and write them out in your journal. Sometimes it may happen that you may not have performed well and that condemns you.

So for that time being, just open up your journal and read aloud about your wins so far. It helps you to stay on the right path and gives us the strength to soldier on to the top of the mountain.

Listen to and meet inspirational individuals.

I love to listen to inspirational individuals who have achieved great things by following their dreams. No matter what happened to them, with their successful habits and never-let-it-down attitude, they achieved greater heights.

Learn from them, and adopt the attitude they have towards their life.

I know it is difficult to adapt to a new routine. But over time, acknowledging and adapting to successful habits rewards you by making the best version of yourself.

Trust yourself:

Recently, a coach suggested to me that “the self-trust that you have had a lot of energy in it.” Where you communicate with yourself or to find ways to solve problems. “ Self-trust gives us our own ability to handle life and gives a positive mental attitude that says “whatever comes my way, I will be able to handle it.”.

The struggle is part of everybody’s journey, so my advice would be to you all to do your best to accomplish self-trust first to cultivate resilience.

Relax and give yourself time.

Spending some time with yourself is the greatest practice that I have found works for me. Where you can have a dialogue with yourself and receive an answer from your inner voice.

You could call it a self-reward system in which you honor the path you took and respect the space you have.

Giving yourself time also helps you to understand yourself more clearly and effectively. Remember, the only person that knows your full potential is you. So embrace that energy that helps you to keep pushing and challenging yourself.

Because every mile you conquer, the less the competition:-)
