Design Challenge
The challenge? Creating a logo that reflects the authentic taste of tea while offering a visual experience that resonates across ages and backgrounds. The logo had to stand out in the local market, representing boldness, flavor, and the vibrant energy of Mathura.
It needed to be more than a symbol of tea; it had to capture the heart of the community — a place where people could come together, relax, and connect over tea. We had to distill all of this into one visual design.
Client’s Vision
Our client had a clear goal in mind: They wanted a logo that was bold, eye-catching, and instantly recognizable. They envisioned a logo that would grab attention even from a distance and create a vibe of warmth, making Tea N Tales a place where people could sit, unwind, and enjoy meaningful conversations with loved ones.
But we didn’t just create a logo. We worked to create a visual identity that captured the heart of Mathura — the traditions, the people, and the experience of savoring tea in a space that feels like home.
Target Audience
The target audience was the local community of Mathura, aged between 15–55. The logo had to appeal to anyone seeking a comfortable spot to enjoy tea, from teenagers to working professionals, to families. Whether you’re catching up with friends, meeting someone new, or simply taking a break, the logo had to represent an inviting atmosphere that brings people together.
Market Research
We conducted a deep dive into the existing tea and café logos in Mathura and nearby areas. Our goal was to understand what made certain logos stand out and how to differentiate Tea N Tales. Through this, we created a mood board that reflected the brand’s essence, focusing on warm, earthy tones that connect with the feeling of sipping chai in a comforting space.
We studied the color palettes, typography choices, and iconography trends that resonated with the local audience, ensuring the design felt authentic to the city and its culture.
Concept Development & Brainstorming
After several sketches and brainstorming sessions, the magic began to happen. Tea cups, leaves, and traditional elements were at the core of our ideas. But as we explored, one design kept standing out — the humble tea cup. It wasn’t just a symbol; it was the perfect reflection of authenticity, warmth, and tradition.
It clicked instantly. The tea cup embodied the essence of Tea N Tales, not just as a café, but as a place of gathering, relaxation, and connection. This simple, everyday object became a powerful symbol for an entire experience.
Design Process
We used a collaborative design approach, leveraging tools like Affinity Photoshop, Designer, and Figma. These platforms allowed us to explore various iterations and collaborate closely with the client, ensuring we were aligned every step of the way. We created multiple versions of the logo for different formats — from billboards to social media — to ensure consistency across platforms.
Our design evolved through playbooks, testing each version to ensure it communicated the brand’s message effectively.
Color Palette & Typography
The warm brown tones chosen for the logo evoke the feeling of a perfectly brewed cup of chai — comforting and rich. This palette aligns with the traditional essence of tea while giving the logo a modern touch. The typography is bold yet friendly, ensuring that the logo is easily recognizable and inviting.
Symbolism & Meaning
At the heart of this design is the warm cup of tea, symbolizing the rising sun and a relaxed, beach-like vibe. The tea cup represents more than just tea — it symbolizes new beginnings, relaxation, and connection. The logo is a celebration of Indian tea culture, inviting everyone who sees it to pause, take a sip, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Problem Solving
We knew the logo had to work across various platforms, whether on a billboard, print material, or digital platforms. To ensure it maintained its integrity, we created different monogram versions of the logo. This allowed the brand to have a flexible visual identity that adapts to any medium without losing its core message.
Personal Insights & Client Feedback
The client was thrilled — they didn’t just see a logo; they saw their brand’s story brought to life. The simplicity and symbolism of the tea cup captured everything they envisioned for Tea N Tales. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the logo now stands as a proud emblem of what Tea N Tales represents.
It’s deeply gratifying to see how a small tea glass can carry the weight of tradition, culture, and storytelling. This design experience taught us the importance of capturing the emotional core of a brand and transforming it into something that resonates with the audience.
